OUR STORY
IN HIM WE LIVE, WE MOVE & HAVE OUR BEING.
WE are created with a purpose and along the journey of life, we discover the gifts and talents the Lord has given us to be used for His glory. We are a husband and wife team, drawn into photography because we appreciate the many wonders and blessings from above and want to capture LIFE.
I first took photos of my daughters when they were babies because I knew that stage would not be repeated but can be reminisced through photographs taken. I started with a simple camera and just wanted to get a printed memory of their childhood. I am an engineer by profession but when we moved to the United States of America, I was drawn to photography, graphic and web designs and have attended several workshops and seminars at Atlanta, GA related to those. My wife on the other hand is a Registered Nurse, certified in Maternal Newborn Nursing. She took care of the moms and their new babies with all her heart for 15 years and soon became the only Filipino Head Nurse at the Family Care Center, Women's Services at one of the most prestigious hospitals in Atlanta,GA,USA.
As a couple and a family, we love to travel. We began our venture to other different States ever since our kids were still young. We started to capture simple moments and beautiful sceneries and that passion just got stronger when we visited London and Paris in 2010.
Now, we have been to several counties in Europe, North America, Middle East, Australia, Asia and the Caribbean Islands and still continue to capture the simple joys in life through the lens of a camera.
We migrated back to Davao City, Philippines in 2011 to be closer to our family.
At that time, new nieces and nephews were born and because we wanted to share our passion for photography, we started taking their photos. Later on, friends came to have their babies’ photos taken too. Since my wife is a newborn and post partum nurse and I love photography, we both found an avenue to share what we are passionate about. We made this into a ministry as well, to share God’s goodness to others and help our satellite churches financially.
We are truly amazed of God’s ways and how He has blessed us with more than what we can ever imagine. Aside from Davaoeños, we have many clients that come to us from Pampanga, Agusan del Sur, Isulan Sultan Kudarat, Compostella Valley, Mawab, Kapalong, Kidapawan, Kabacan, Cotabato City, Tagum, Panabo, Digos, Carmen and Mati. We are likewise thankful for the Filipinos living abroad who came to visit Davao and gave us the opportunity to take their photos as well.. from Singapore, Doha, South Korea, Abu Dhabi, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, UAE, Dubai, Kuwait, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA.
We believe in the saying that “We make a living by what we earn but we make LIFE by what we give." We are HULAGWAYI PORTRAITS.
