THE EXISTENCE
- Rey & Minette
The existence of our lives here on earth is not just to gain for our own interest but for the interest of God‘s purposes, to be fruitful and to multiply what God has embedded in us. Our influence is not rangebound to our existing situation. It will become larger by our premeditated destination when we are committed to the journey. One writer said that Influence is rooted in character - who we are and who we are becoming. Influence transfers best and moves most quickly whenever respect and trust are pres- ent. Character breeds influence. It is like breathing - the deeper you inhale, the stronger you can exhale. Take your character deep and your influence will be profound.” Respect, love, trust & care for each other generates influence. We ought to be positive influential people to the life of another human being. Not simply to do good, but to generate greatness, to stir up others toward good for God.
We can never make into completion God’s purpose for our lives without Him, yet we will never know God’s mighty power until we get cracking on to move in His purpose. For without Him, we cannot do anything and everything we do will not be in order without Him.
PRAYERFUL PARENTS
- Rey
Weekly praying parents results to weakly parenting. One of the biggest responsibilities of being parents is to speak life, blessing and anointing to our children. More than material things, advices and life principles, seeds of daily prayer play a significant role into how they grow up to be. We ought to instill the importance of prayer, the power of prayer and the impact of prayer in their walk with God. It might seem difficult at times since we face a busy world that needs to be catered and chores that need to be done. But it’s definitely worth the sacrifice! Parents, our children need our prayers fervently.
Hurts, regrets, doubts, anger, lust, rebellion, curiosity and identity crisis are surrounding our children’s generation. These are the spirits that battle inside them. The world offers them to be ‘happy’ not to be ‘holy’ as they should be.True indeed that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and rulers of this world. But take heart for greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world!
I remember hearing my mother wake up and praise the Lord every morning around 3’o clock. She would lay her hands on the top of our heads (me and my four brothers) and start praying. As a teenager, I honestly did not understand why she did that consistently. I felt annoyed sometimes cause her noise often woke me up from sleep. Little did I know of the impact and the importance of what she was doing. The truth of the matter is, she was sowing seeds of blessing, guidance and the will of God to manifest in our lives in His perfect time. It was for our own good. On that, I will never ever stop thanking her for the sacrifices she has made and the tears she has shed for us in prayer. My father who is now with the Lord instilled in us the importance of family devotion - to read the Word of God, share testimonies, pray together and worship the Lord as one family. My wife and I do not sleep without having time of devotion with the Lord and praying together with our daughters, Reychelle and Reynette daily.
Deep inside each one lives an impossible thought that wants to be fulfilled. A dream that longs to come true.A hope that needs to breakthrough.A desire that wants to be granted.Yet sometimes we don’t know where to start and what to do. Some parents only end up wishing but not receiving what they desire for their children. But whatever they are, we are welcome to place them all together in the altar of God for in Him all things are possible. He is able to do more than we can ask or think. He longs to take our hopeless situation - our impossibilities and turn them into possibilities. When worry cripples us down, God wants to bring us freedom. When confusion paralyzes us, God wants to illuminate His light to our path. When concern rises up, God wants to take care of us. Let me quote this in my own words in Matthew 19:26... “With parents like you and me, things may seem impossible to handle, but with God all things are possible.”
Prayer brings momentum in our journey. It lifts our hearts above the challenges we encounter and gives a perfect perspective of God’s resources of victory and hope. Prayer provides poise in the midst of storm, peace in the middle of ca- lamity, and pursuit in front of uncertainty. There is a phrase that says, “Whatever is worth worrying about is certainly worth praying about. When you feel swept off your feet, get back to your knees.” Our awesome God is never more than a prayer away... Remember, God has a bigger and greater plan for our children than we could ever desire. Let us pray for all prayerful parents to rise up!
2 Corinthians 8:7 But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, and in all eagerness and in the love from us that is in you—make sure that you excel in this act of kindness too. (NET)
